ICYMI: Washington Post Endorses Tom Perez for Maryland Governor

SILVER SPRING, MD –Maryland gubernatorial candidate and former Maryland and U.S. Labor Secretary Tom Perez today received the endorsement of the Washington Post in the race for Maryland governor.

In their endorsement, The Washington Post Editorial Board called Tom the clear choice who would "make an outstanding governor."

Citing Tom Perez's long record of accomplishments in local, state, and federal government, the Editorial Board noted that “…none of the candidates can match Mr. Perez’s track record or command of governing. Few candidates in Maryland’s history, or the country’s, would enter a governor’s office so well prepared.”

The Washington Post joins a diverse and rapidly growing coalition who has endorsed the Perez-Sneed campaign, including national, state, and local officials, like Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi; Former President of Planned Parenthood Cecile Richards; State Senator Joanne C. Earlier this week, the Maryland State and D.C. AFL-CIO endorsed Tom Perez and Shannon Sneed, joining the vast majority of unions, including the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW),  32BJ SEIU, SEIU Local 500, Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU), International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Communications Workers of America (CWA), and more.
